Year-Round Shallow Water Fishing in the Heart of the Crystal Coast

The waters surrounding Beaufort, Harkers Island, and Cape Lookout are some of the most productive inshore fishing grounds on the East Coast, and Captain Will has spent years learning every inch of them.

Tucked inside the Cape Lookout National Seashore, the pristine flats, marshes, creeks, and sounds offer incredible variety in a stunning natural setting. This is where schools of redfish roam the flats, speckled trout hang in the grass edges, and bluefish and mackerel tear through schools of bait.

Captain Will’s 22-foot Triton bay boat gives you the flexibility to fish it all, from the shallow grassy flats where redfish are caught on topwater plugs and gold spoons, to the deeper marsh creeks and out toward the Pamlico Sound. This is technical, exciting fishing, and it is Captain Will’s specialty.

Beaufort’s year-round fishery is made even more productive by its access to the nearby Neuse River, which brings in a whole new lineup of species during the cooler months, including wintertime speckled trout and striped bass.

Captain Will is an artificial lure specialist focused on pursuing redfish and speckled trout in shallow water. Whether you have never held a fishing rod or you have been chasing redfish on the flats for years, this trip is built for you.
